The horses at the Dare To Dream Youth Ranch come from a variety of situations. Some have been beaten, starved, abandoned and some all 3. Some have good blood lines some we have no clue. Some were unwanted some so damaged that they could no longer do what they were intended to do anymore. Here at the ranch they have all found a home. A place where they wont be mistreated. A place where they will be cared for, retrained, nourished, and loved. They have all been given a second chapter in life.
At the ranch the horses have a chance to share their story’s with the children who visit. Some of the children have similar story’s and this makes for a bonding that you have to see to believe. God uses these majestic animals to help Kids and adults alike. A horse doesn’t judge it doesnt makefun of or talk about anyone. The horses at the ranch treat all strangers as a friend.
Some of the things you can expect to see from our horses when the interact with a child is first trust. Once the trust is there all else falls into place. The horses will react to each person a a little different way. For-instance a young child might be treated very gentle by the horses while and older child will be tested a little more. It is like the horse knows that a 15yr old should know a little more then a 5 year old. but it also seems to know when a 15 yr old isn’t up for it. They seem to have the patients of a snail for one child and then act like a hyper active child themselves for a different one. With one kid they will be stubborn and bull headed while doing everything and more for another. they seem to know what each child can handle and sometimes will test them accordingly.
We would like to invite you all to come see these wonderful animals for yourselves. We also would like to invite you to contribute to our ministry monetarily. Our over all budget is around $35,000 and this is without paying anyone who works at the ranch. We do not charge for our normal program so we rely solely on the graces public to help us fund the program.
The cost per month to feed and care for each horse is around $100.00. This does not include any vet care. Any and all donations are much appreciated. Your generous donation will help to care for me and to help the ranch further its education of horses for disadvantaged children, horse camps and programs. Dare to Dream Youth Ranch is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations are tax-deductible.handbook
